Week 4 EOC: My new app

I have an idea for an app that wakes you up with effort, I introduce to you the SHOCKER. The shocker is an inexpensive app that connects to a small wrist device. It's objective is to send a small shock to you when you set an alarm.  The shock is minor, but you can adjust the amount of electricity released into your wrist. The small device also connects to over applications through the main SHOCKER application. I promise this will be the last time you sleep through an alarm. There are applications similar, but those are all from vibration, Shocker is the only app that actually uses electric shocks to wake you or notify you of a message or an event. Due to health hazards it should  not be used by people with medical conditions that may risk further health issues. Using this product comes at its own risk, but we ensure safety and even plan on installing an emergency button for the app and for the actual device. The app will have a permission setting allowing for an emergency shock from another user to notify you about any situation, but hopefully for emergencies only. If you have problem with the shocks, there is also the option of using our vibration attachment that only vibrates to notify you. This may be a better option for using during everyday activities, most people don’t want to get shocked every five minutes or get shocked through a “Facebook” group chat, that would suck. SHOCKER is the next step to the alarm world, because we have all slept through our alarm and/or it didn’t go off, but SHOCKER can have many other option, but it’s main purpose is to wake you up,so you can finally stop worrying about sleeping through another alarm.

Week 5 EOC: This is what has my interest

Recently the box office has been filed with comics and video games to a very surprising point, so many different studios have noticed this trend and are even coming up with comic book movies of spin off comics such as “Suicide Squad” which has had some mixed feeling. On box office numbers it seems to be doing great, but for reviews it may need some work, for the next spin off they need to look back and realize their mistakes. Although this does not mean that future movies will fail or fall short in these categories, we are hoping that these things will go better. https://twitter.com/KennysArtEmail/status/763792916628303872.
DC comics have been struggling against Marvel lately trying to take a darker approach to the realism of their comic and it may be hurting them. They seem to want to be more realistic and less comedic than their comic book counterpart which takes a very comical approach to the realism of their movies. In reality they need to step back find out what is unsatisfying about their movies, whether it be tone, cinematography, story or just how well it matches up to the comic. In creative terms it may be very simple, but in business terms it may not be so easy.  https://twitter.com/KennysArtEmail/status/763788587636776960
Even though there's been some controversy DC may not fully let us down. The new wonder woman trailer and Justice league trailer have been small givers of hope and from the trailer there seems to be a little more comedy to ease up that DC darker tone. Marvel went with a team and it eventually benefitted them in the long run, so DC may finally be doing what they should have done with the recent box office flops. Marvel isn’t godly either, Because even though we rather not, we all remember the Hulk and Daredevil. So DC can still redeem themselves and save its reputation, but it need to happen soon, before fans give up and o back to the comics.https://twitter.com/KennysArtEmail/status/763792189537316864

Week 3 EOC: My Demographics

Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games

Video games impact the economy more than most people think. The average person plays at least one video games even if it’s just a mobile application. The market only seems to be rising overall.  “Market research firm Newzoo revealed today that it expects the global gaming market to be worth $99.6 billion dollars in 2016. That’s up 8.4 percent when compared to last year.” (MIKE MINOTTI, April 21st, 2016) (http://venturebeat.com/2016/04/21/video-games-will-become-a-99-6b-industry-this-year-as-mobile-overtakes-consoles-andpcs/).
People are spending more which makes it better for the economy and gaming industries can flourish. More people are gaming, there is less being bought, but the play time is exponential.“I think the industry is in a very good place,”said Handler.
“It’s evolving very differently than it was a cycle ago. People are playing fewer games, but they’re spending more time with those games and they’re spending more on those games [though downloadable content]. Today, its about people spending $ 100 on the game rather than $60 on the game. (Chris Morris, June 7th, 2016) (http://www.cnbc.com/2016/06/07/as-ea-approaches-video-game-industry-is-at-a-turning-point.html).
The more entertaining the games are, the more people are willing to go buy games and gaming systems. Xbox, Playstations, and PC’s are helping bring in the most revenue, although the mobile market is also taking over.“Newzoo predicts that “at this pace, global revenues will reach $107 billion in 2017” according to a release today. Last year, the company said that the market would be worth $102.9 billion by 2017.” (Collin Campbell, April 22nd, 2015) (http://www.polygon.com/2015/4/22/8471789/worldwide-video-games-market-value-2015). Revenues in Asia are increased with global gaming also the Chinese market has increased so much that it could overtake the United States, possibly even Japan, even though this seems unlikely. Some of the requirements in order to keep the game marketing business up is the competition are difficult, again the entertainment of the game, and the hardware for the games. Without the constant competing against other companies of trying to make new games, hardware, and consoles, an industry won’t be able to keep up with growing new generation and old generation of gamers. However the most important thing is to appeal to the customers of the younger generation since they are more likely to spend more.

Week 1 EOC: My Voice

I’ve been a filmmaker since 2012, even though I’ve had a love of filmmaking all my life. The reason for this love is because out of all the outlets, film the art of moving pictures seems to be the only way I can fully show anyone how i feel, how I like things, what I think is funny and who I am. Youtube has been a great stepping stone to bigger things. I love it though, it’s been a great learning experience and has allowed me to see beyond the filming process and look into the financial and business aspect. My true dream though is to be a Director/Assistant Director, the only reason I wouldn’t mind being an Assistant Director is due to the amount of work they get, especially due to the fact that I’m no millionaire. Overall I’ve recently started at “The Art Institute of Las Vegas” and I am enjoying it so far, especially since I have access to so much equipment I could not afford. The people at AI are also amazing and the teachers are beyond passionate about their individual craft. If I am stuck with a backup job in the future I hope I could be a teacher, because if you have to pick a career, why not teach what you love to people who also love it.  Honestly, I have a long journey ahead, but a fun and hopefully an exciting one. After all that I really want to give my friends jobs, also I would like to stop my parents from working, especially my mother, because she’s given so much to put me where I am today and I hope to make her proud some day, she means the world to me.

Week 1 EOC: Great Customer Service

Honestly some of the best service I've received was at an Airsoft arena called Gamepod Combat Zone; an airsoft field/store. This field is known for being the biggest indoor airsoft arena in the world, although this is because it is in a huge warehouse. The field is great with plenty of props, but there is a few issues. The field has a lack of air conditioning which causes for a lot of fogging in your eye protection. The lighting could also be better, even the refs found it difficult to to tell if someone was hit and who shot who. The buildings are nice, but it would really add to the realism if they painted them and add props to the actual buildings other than a couch here and there. I also found the lack of rentals and rental packages a problem, especially for the prices they charge. There are plenty reason to hate on Gamepod Combat Zone, but other than these few problems, you can’t be too quick to judge instantly. The quality of care for new gamers was just as good as returning airsofters. I was working on my weapon because of a random malfunction and at no charge they repaired and gave me a new fuse in case of future problems. I was a new player at the time and due to that, the employees suited up just to help me get in the game on their own free time. I also was given a new player's discount plus aloud a free mask rental when my own mask didn't meet field standards. I know for a fact I will always choose Gamepod as my field of choice."Job performance, company performance, product value, and customer satisfaction all improve when people in the same department or work group begin supporting and assisting each other and emphasize cooperation instead of competition." (MKTG, 9th Edition pg9).
